McGillis, noted for her performances in ‘Top Gun’, ‘Witness’ and ‘The Accused’, told website shewire that she was single and definitely looking for a woman.
It puts to rest long-standing rumours about her personal life.
McGillis, 51, has wed twice and has two daughters from her second marriage to Fred Tillman.
She came to fame starring opposite Harrison Ford in ‘Witness’, but it is as the love interest of Tom Cruise in 1986’s ‘Top Gun’ that she is perhaps better known.
Speaking to shewire’s Girl Rock video blog, McGillis said she was now looking for a woman in her life, The Irish News reports.
