The EP features a highly-personal collection of 10 heart-pumping songs that blend pop/dance/electronica sounds and includes dance hits, “Just Another Summer” (currently voted into the Top 10 list of MTV/Logo’s Click List) and “My Turn” (an English version of the artist’s 2006 hit “Kore Lecha”), along with his gay anthem song, “Children of the Sun,” a gay duet entitled “Across The Universe,” and other songs that provide a seductive glimpse into this exciting artist’s personal journey of love, acceptance, personal freedom, and sex. “My Turn” was produced by long-time Yehonathan collaborator, Lyrik.

Who is Yehonathan?

In 2000, Yehonathan was one of Israel’s hottest young music superstars experiencing an unprecedented level of success following the release of his first album. In addition to his own demanding tour and personal appearance schedules, he was a support act for bands like Westlife, Melanie C, and Five. A teen idol in every sense of the word, Yehonathan’s image of his early alter ego “Gatro” was plastered all over teen magazines, much to the delight of droves of his female fans. He gave them the love songs they wanted to hear, and they responded with unwavering adoration, believing the songs were written for them. Back home though, he kept a personal secret hidden that prevented him from feeling that he was being true to himself and to his fans: he had a boyfriend.

In search of a much needed change and fearful that he could be outed, Yehonathan moved to Los Angeles in 2002 to pursue acting studies at one of the town’s finest schools. When he returned to Israel two years later, he did so as a changed man with two things: a suitcase full of new songs he had written, a new one-word moniker as “Yehonathan,” and, best of all, a newfound sense of self and acceptance. In 2006, he released his second album, and the first single, Kore Lecha (Calling You), a gay love song, shot to the top of the music and video charts and became his official coming out song to his fans. In 2007, Yehonathan followed up his success with the release of On A Hot Summer Night, which became an instant dance club hit and the steamy video version of the song was one of the most talked about videos on the internet, earning accolades from LGBTQ media around the globe, including popular DNA magazine naming it “one of the top 10 gay videos of all time!”

So when you consider Yehonathan’s soul-searching quest, it’s easy to get a glimpse into the mind of a recording artist who believes that taking the road less traveled comes with many rewards.

Yet, even with his recent successes and the lessons he learned about himself, when Yehonathan went into the studio early last year to record his first full-length English album entitled My Turn, he never imagined in a million years that it would evolve into one of the most highly-personal experiences of his career – one that would give birth to a bold collection of 11 scintillating songs. Adding to the magic behind the evolution of this project is Yehonathan’s ability to blend his brilliant, idiosyncratic gifts as a songwriter and vocalist with a vibrant, sensual, and pulsating sound that marries modern dance beats with pop, rock, and 80s disco influences. The entire album masterfully illustrates an unflinching level of intimacy that he hopes his audience will feel and hear.

In addition to his work in music, Yehonathan is a popular actor, starring recently in the controversial Israeli TV series, The Ran Quartet (Reviat Ran), a provocative drama that follows the personal and sex lives of a group of gay men, in which he plays the role of Nadav.
