Israeli singer/songwriter, Yehonathan joins forces with Lyrik and they make their Canadian debut at Vancouver Pride Sunset Beach Festival Stage this August 1, 2010.

Yehonathan

Yehonathan’s first single, Calling You from his debut Hebrew album, Miracle of Love, was a top-rated dance song released in Israel in 2006. The music video reached #1. In 2007, On a Hot Summer Night was released and immediately turned into a dance …club hit. The music video for the track, Just Another Summer was voted to the top of MTV/ LOGO’s worldwide Click List five weeks in a row. Inspired by his own life experiences, My Turn is both intensely personal and universal, and is considered an exploration of his musical ambitions.

Yehonathan describes his musical style as “a blend of pop, dance and electronica,” making him extremely popular in the dance circuit. Having just finished recording My Turn in Israel, Yehonathan has been keeping busy. He recently co-starred in a recurring role on the Israeli TV series, The Ran Quartet where he played Nadav, a young man embroiled in the world of Tel Aviv’s gay scene. He was also recently interviewed and was featured on the cover of Instinct Magazine.

The struggles and challenges faced by these artists in their home country fit perfectly with Vancouver Pride Society’s theme of LIBERATE. Sometimes we forget that just because we may have all liberties, many around the world are still struggling to just be whom they are.
