The programme regularly talks to leading legal figures, both here in the UK and abroad, but also hears from the people caught up in the law about how it affects their lives.

Law In Action

The series doesn’t report trials for their own sake, but will explore the legal issues raised by cases in the news. In this series, listeners will hear about the “gay cake” case in Northern Ireland, and the interaction between laws and social values. The programme will also be looking at the work of the Court of Protection and will explore diversity in the legal profession.

Law In Action’s aim is to lead the field in lively, jargon-free but rigorous analysis of the legal stories in, behind, and ahead of, the news.

The series first aired in 1984 and is presented by Joshua Rozenberg. Having spent 15 years as the BBC’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, and a further eight years editing the Daily Telegraph’s legal coverage, Joshua is one of the UK’s best known legal commentators.

Presenter/Joshua Rozenberg, Producers/Ben Crighton and Jim Frank for the BBC.
