In 2015 were 221 new diagnosed HIV infected people in Norway, there is a decrease from 249 cases in 2014. The decline seen in overall among men who have sex with men, according to a new report from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH).

For the other groups the HIV situation there are little change from 2014.

Condom use, early diagnosis and fastest possible effective skin treatment is still the most important preventive measures, says Øivind Nilsen, senior adviser at the NIPH.

The number of reported HIV cases in 2015 is the lowest in 10 years. Of the 221 HIV cases that were reported in 2015, there were 145 men and 76 women. In total there are now diagnosed with HIV 5843 in Norway, 3948 males and 1895 females.
