Denise, 21, and Elin, 23, is deeply in love but, 90 mil apart. The couple sought joint home in Gothenburg - but were immediately met with homophobia because of their love.

Now they have had enough of homophobia.

– I feel both sadness and anger. You are born this way, it’s not something you choose, says Denise.

When Denise and Elin met for a year and a half ago, the love hit them with full force. But the couple was kept apart by geography. Denise studying to be a nurse in Örnsköldsvik and Elin are working in the Gothenburg area. An untenable situation for a loving young couple. Therefore, they decided recently to seek common home in Gothenburg.

Denise put out housing advertisements in Facebook Groups and hoped for the best. Instead, she got her worst fears were confirmed when the focus quickly fell on the couple’s sexual orientation, Expressen.se writes.

Homophobia

There was one person who wrote: “What does it matter if there are two girls when you still look like a girl and a guy.” I was both irritated and sad, says Denise.

She stops but quickly picks up the thread again.

– I wrote that I thought his comment was malicious. Then I reply: “What is it that’s mean, it’s obvious that your girl trying to look like a guy.”

Some people needs to put down other people to make them self feel good, they don’t understand that they are lacking social skills and social intelligence. We wish them good luck in their house hunting and hope they will find a loving home together soon.
