Stars prepare to take their battles away from the cobbles and onto the bowling lane…

Coronation Street

This month sees Manchester Pride’s festivities commence ahead of The Big Weekend with an almighty all star bang as the Coronation Street cast once again show their support and team up to battle it out with the public in two fundraising events.

The charity, along with Black Dog Ballroom and ITV have arranged a series of competitions requiring both brains and braun all in the name of fundraising.

The Big Coronation Street Quiz! 18th August 2016 at 7pm

The Big Coronation Street Quiz will see 10 teams of six Coronation Street fans, put their knowledge of the cobbles to the ultimate test and pit their wits against a team of Corrie favourites. Teams will thrash it out to be crowned king or queen of The Big Coronation Street Quiz, all in aid of Manchester Pride.

If your knowledge of Ken Barlow’s love life is up to scratch and you know your Elsie Tanners from your Ena Sharples then this is the quiz for you!

Cast members confirmed for this are Dolly Rose Campbell (GEMMA), Sair Khan (ALYA), Dan Brocklebank (BILLY), Kym Marsh (MICHELLE) and Gareth Berliner (MACCA).

Individual places are £10 and include a welcome drink, nibbles, entry in to The Big Coronation Street Quiz and a digital team photo. Those wanting to take part can sign up as a full team of six or buy an individual place and organisers will put them in a team with other street enthusiasts!

The battleground of choice is The Bunker, Black Dog Ballroom NQ, Basement Affleck’s Palace, Church Street, Manchester M4 1PW and the quiz commences at 7pm.

Allstars Tournament; 21st August 2016 @ 12:00pm

If bowling and banter is your bag, then the All Stars Tournament is your chance to shine. The stars of the show will swap battles on the cobbles for an almighty battle on Whitworth Street on the bowling lanes at Dog Bowl.

Five teams of six bowlers are needed for the event, with each team being captained by a street star – a fair amount of off-screen drama can be expected!

If you fancy striking out with Gary Windass or chasing a turkey with Billy The Vicar, grab yourself a ticket! Individual places are £25 and include bowling, a welcome drink and nibbles. There is opportunity to enter either as a team of six, or as an individual where players will be put into teams at the event. All proceeds go to Manchester Pride and the tournament starts at 12 noon.

Cast members confirmed to take part are Dolly Rose Campbell (GEMMA), Dan Brocklebank (BILLY), Mikey North (GARY), Gareth Berliner (MACCA), Shayne Ward (AIDAN), Bruno Langley (TODD) and Bhavna (RANA).

Tickets can be purchased at www.eventbrite.co.uk
