Merlí a TV series created by Héctor Lozano, that tells the story about a high school philosophy teacher, Merlí and about the students of his class, including his own closeted son Bruno (David Solans).

Merlí

You get an insight about relationship, friendship, love, and problems between the students of the class.

The series language are Catalan and first season had premiere 14 September 2015.

The story line about Bruno (played by heartthrob David Solans) that is closeted from the start, are written in a way that any gay person out there will recognise some part of it or all of it. Not to disclosure to much, the coming out story line was beautiful made as well.

The tv series do not stereo type gay characters in the series, there are two main gay characters, Bruno and Oliver (Iñaki Mur) – any gay person can easily identify with these two characters.

After seen first season and partly 2nd season that is airing on TV3  in Spain right now, I can recommend Merlí highly to the LGBTQ community in the whole world. Get your TV station to air it. Merlí is a very good example,  that you don’t need to go the U.S to find high quality drama series and with a great story line that fits the LGBTQ community very well.
