Yesterday the board of ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, accepted the reconsideration request for .GAY put forward by BeLonG To and over 50 other LGBT Organisations. This will result in a reconsideration of the application by dotgay LLC to administer the domain on the basis of “community priority evaluation” (CPE).
BeLonG To, the national organisation for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people in Ireland has co-signed a letter with over 50 businesses and organisations worldwide asking ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, to reconsider their refusal of community priority evaluation status to dotgay LLC for the ownership of the future .GAY top-level domain.
