Former "Golden Girl" Bea Arthur died in Los Angeles Saturday at the age of 86.

The famously tall and deep-voiced actress had cancer, according to a spokesperson, who declined to give details. He said Arthur’s family was by her side, KTLA News reports.

Arthur is perhaps best known for her roes on the hit television shows “Maude” and “The Golden Girls.”
