2011 Flashpoints for LGBT Equality
Today the Human Rights Campaign, America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organisation, released “2011 Flashpoints for LGBT Equality,” a media primer on the LGBT issues landscape for the coming year. The document includes a new analysis of the make-up of the 112th Congress being sworn in today and shows that anti-LGBT lawmakers hold a majority of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
National Organization for Marriage Forced to Hand over Previously Undisclosed Tax Returns
Following an onsite request by the Human Rights Campaign, the National Organization for Marriage today released its 2009 Form 990, the tax return they are required to submit to the IRS. NOM dated its 990 November 14, 2010, yet did not disclose it publicly until today when it gave an HRC representative a hard-copy of the tax return.
