January 26, 2011, the Human Rights Campaign, America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organisation, lauded President Obama’s appointment of Roberta Achtenberg to serve on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Achtenberg was the first openly gay or lesbian person to be confirmed to a government position by the Senate.

DADT Repeal Implementation Plan Must Be Executed Expeditiously

James Cartwright. It appears that training could begin in a matter of months, consistent with President Obama’s timeline commitment of months, not years.
