How homophobic bullying led to tragedy for one family

Research has shown that a shocking one-in-five young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Irish people attempt suicide, many as a result of homophobic bullying.

The number of young people who end up taking their own lives, meanwhile, is unknown.

Next month, campaigners against the homophobic bullying of young people will present the groundbreaking Irish model for eliminating the practice to a worldwide audience at a UNESCO conference in Paris, reports.
