TV presenter Clare Balding has said that gay sportsmen and women should not hide their sexuality – as she maintains being open and honest will improve their performance.
Clare, who is openly gay, said that people in sport are still reluctant to reveal their own sexual preferences due to concernrs it will affect their career.
“I think there is still a fear in sport that being open about your sexuality will affect sponsorship deals,” she said.
