EastEnders’ bosses have said that rumours Danny Dyer would be getting a ‘dressing down’ for attacking homophobic comments on Twitter are not true.
Danny, who joined the BBC soap on Christmas Day, plays Mick Carter who was shown in scenes on Friday with his screen son Johnny (Sam Strike) as he came out.
But despite receiving a lot of praise for the sensitively handled storyline, Danny also had some homophobic tweets from a few viewers.
He replied by tweeting: “Here’s a little message for some of the homophobic p***** who are tweeting me……..happy new year,” with a medical diagram of a person putting something up their bottom.
