The writers behind the episode of EastEnders that drew complaints over a gay kiss scene have responded - with one saying the fuss makes him "even prouder" to have written it.

Two viewers logged official complaints with BBC after seeing Sam Strike’s Johnny Carter kissing Danny Pennant’s Gary Lucy in the December 30 instalment.
