A summer without a good bonfire is not a good summer. As per tradition, there are many St. Hans bonfires can be found around Denmark.

This year it will be something special when LGBT Denmark invites to St. Hans on Amager Beachpark. This year celebrates LGBT Denmark for two things. The old association was founded 66 years ago and it is 25 years since Denmark became the first country in the world introduced registered partnership. St. Hans is always on the June 23 and are celebrated in Denmark and Norway. But Sweden call it Midsummer and are always celebrated on the closest to a Friday to St. Hans. So the Sweds celebrated Midsummer last Friday and are celebrated the whole weekend. Friday and Saturday are some kind of Bank holiday – so stores closes early and some are closed the whole weekend and many people has the the weekend off.
