Attorney General Githu Muigai said on Thursday that Kenya has made progress on rights of the country’s gay community.
Last Sunday, Member of the Lithuanian Parliament Algirdas Vaclovas Patackas warned that the head of the Lithuanian Gay League's (LGL) engaged in “provocation” that might result in “dead bodies”, similar to recent attacks in Paris.

On January 18th, 2015 the Member of the Lithuanian Parliament Algirdas Vaclovas Patackas publicly warned the Board Chair of the national LGBT* human rights association LGL that the organization is “playing with fire” and that its activities might result in a “black, repulsive and totally unacceptable response” similar to that which “happened in Paris.” The statement by the MP was issued as a response to the organization’s humour-based suggestion to store 10-litas notes as LGBT* souvenirs.

The proposed Gender Recognition Bill is a step forward but it falls seriously short of providing adequate protection to Trans young people, especially within the education system and makes no attempt to protect and vindicate their right to freedom of expression. On a practical level this impacts on uniform choice, access to appropriate toilets, the name which appears on the school roll and the right to join sports teams targeted for those of a certain gender.

Tax-deductible tickets will support North Jersey Pride’s LGBTQ youth-related events and Hetrick-Martin Institute: New Jersey’s after-school program for at-risk LGBTQ teens in Newark.
