NYC's electro glam duo Naked Highway kicks off 2015 with release of the "Cage" music video - the flipside to their highly acclaimed iTunes-charting "Cannibal" single! !

Naked Highway - Cage

“Cage” follows along to same path as “Cannibal” – delving deep into the darker side of nightlife while confronting masculinity and gender roles through a bearded drag performance by group member DLR.

Group founder Sy Boccari says, “Naked Highway has a long standing love affair with nightlife and DJ culture. ‘Cage’ is sort of like…’what happens when the party is over?’ It can get pretty lonely. You go from an awesome party with loud music & lots of people to crawling into bed alone & totally spent, just waiting for the next party to happen so you can get that high – that connection to something bigger again. It’s a subject I had to get out of my system and into song.”

“I remember when I was a club DJ, finishing my gigs and needing something more after the bars and clubs were all closed,” DLR recalls. “There was an urgency – not sure where the darkest corners of the night might take me, but searching for something to make me feel alive. When we filmed the “Cage” video, I learned that the dark corners of the night can feel VERY alive when you renounce the masculinity that our society values so much, beat your face and put on a wig and some fishnet stockings! Sadly, there are a lot of places where it’s not safe to dress up in drag and wander the streets, but it was so liberating and exhilarating when we hit the NYC streets at 4 AM to film this video.”

The duo spent 2014 promoting their first two iTunes-charting singles “Off Ya Clothes” & “Cannibal” while producing remixes acts such as Parralox, Jared Jones, RuPaul’s Drag Race alums Manila Luzon, Jinkx Monsoon, Latrice Royale & Willam Belli. Naked Highway also contributed music to the Australian web drama The Horizon (30M+ YouTube views & counting).
