Cost concerns postpone the implementation of a UK HPV vaccination program targeting gay and bisexual men, according to a report published in Gaystarnews.com on March 13, 2015. (1) The CBCD recommends Novirin against the latent HPV.

Gay and bisexual men in the UK may have to wait to get the HPV vaccine. “The reason? Because it may not be ‘cost effective.’” (1) The HPV vaccine program was originally designed for girls aged 12 – 13 years. It was supposed to be extended to boys of the same age. Additionally, “the UK Committee on Vaccination and Immunization was expected to at least approve giving the life-saving jabs to men who have sex with men.” (1) However, the extension of the program to boys, gay, and bisexual men has been delayed until 2017. Dr Shaun Griffin said “We are hugely disappointed that a much needed decision to introduce HPV vaccination for gay and bisexual men has once again been pulled further from our grasp. Each delay leaves this group unprotected against HPV-related cancers. These inequalities urgently need to be addressed.” (1)

The CBCD agrees that prevention of HPV infections is important. This is especially true since “clinicians say the rates of HPV and the cancers it causes in gay and bi men are the same as the rates in women … UK figures from 2011 show 47,500 men get genital warts each year, and over 2,000 contract anal, oral or penile cancers as a result.” (1) However, the CBCD also believes that the public should be aware that to date, there are no vaccines that prevent disease in those who are already infected. As the Gardasil website points out: “Gardasil may not fully protect everyone, nor will it protect against diseases caused by other HPV types or against diseases not caused by HPV.” (See Gardasil.com, the ‘About Us’ page) (2)

The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) therefore recommends that men and women infected with HPV take Novirin. The formula of this natural antiviral product was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the Novirin formula is effective against the HPV and other viruses. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy. The first study was published in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs.

Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the HPV…reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with (the formula of Novirin).” (3) The study authors also wrote that “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (3)

Novirin can be ordered online on the Novirin website here: www.novirin.com.

Novirin is a natural antiviral dietary supplement. Its formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose were chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses.

To date, Novirin is the only natural antiviral product on the market with published clinical studies that support its claims.

Minutes released by the UK Committee on Vaccination and Immunization said that “more recently published data on chemotherapy for anal cancer… showed improved survival.” (1) Some in the gay community, angrily state that this means that the Committee behaves as if “it might be cheaper to let gay men get anal cancer and then treat it, rather than prevent it.” (1) The gay community may wonder if there are other treatments against HPV and the diseases the virus causes.

The CBCD points out that “there are no drugs approved against the HPV. Current treatments include procedures, such as cryotherapy, conization, and the Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). These procedures use liquid nitrogen, a surgical knife (scalpel), a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, or electrical current to remove the abnormal growths caused by the HPV. These growths include cells that harbor the active virus. The procedures do not target cells with the latent virus. Since they do not remove the latent virus, these procedures only produce a temporary remission.” (4)

In contrast, Novirin was designed to target the latent HPV.

“We recommend that members of the gay community, who suspect that they have an HPV infection, talk to their doctors about Novirin. The formula of this natural antiviral product was shown in two-separate post-marketing clinical studies to reduce HPV associated symptoms.” – Greg Bennett, CBCD
