Congress Must Restore Full Protections of Voting Rights Act
Today, on the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 – a landmark piece of legislation that prohibits racial discrimination in voting – the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organisation, called on Congress to restore the full protections of this crucial legislation.
