Faroe Islands is self-governing country within the Danish Realm since 1948 and on Friday they said yes to same-sex marriage.
It’s an absolutely fantastic day. We have fought for years to gain this victory, and it’s finally here. It has been a difficult process, but today we are just all happy.
This was Eiler Fagraklett’s comment, spokesman for LGBT Faroe Islands, after the Faroese parliament today adopted a proposal that gives homosexuals the right to be wed. 19 voted for and 14 voted against.

LGBT Faroe Islands (LGBT Føroyar) has about 300 paying members, while the Association on Facebook has about 9,000 supporters.
