Addicted – unique treasure from China
Addicted is the LGBT web series everyone is talking about - the series is based on the Boys' love novel "Are You Addicted?" written by Chai Jidan.
Addicted (also known as “Heroin” or “Addiction”).
The main characters in the story line are Bai Luo Yin played by Xu Weizhou (许魏洲) and Gu Hai played by actor Huang Jingyu (黃景瑜).
Bai Luo Yin since a young age, been living with his father, Bai Han Qi, and his grandmother. When he turned 16 years old, his biological mother Jiang Yuan re-married with a high ranking military official, Gu Wei Ting.
Gu Hai has deep anger towards his father, after his mother, Gu Wei Ting, died. Just by chance, two step-brothers with wildly conflicting emotional backgrounds have been placed in the same class at a Beijing high school, without knowing each other’s background. With time, they slowly developed a special bond, each in a different way.
After seen all 15 episodes of season 1 (and it seems to sadly be the only one), I’ve concluded this is a LGBT Chinese treasure – a treasure that you don’t find everyday. It’s raw, real and historic at the same time. You’ve never seen a quality series with a LGBT theme coming out of China – it’s so good that western world should pick up some inspiration from China Huace Film & TV.
So please China Huace Film & TV, hear the the echo from all around the world – from all of us who want to see what is happening with Bai Luo Yin and Gu Hai. If you like Addicted ? then comment on China Huace Film & TV Official Channel that you want more. Watch it below.
China’s regulators have once again shown their discomfort with homosexuality by pulling a popular gay-themed Web drama offline, wsj.com reported in February.
