A North East charity is preparing to get suited, booted and brimming with pride for a special fundraising event this summer.

Newcastle Pride

Northern Pride, which organises leading LGBT festival Newcastle Pride – sponsored by business improvement district NE1 – is hosting a black tie ball at Bar Beyond at The Gate, Newcastle on Wednesday, 14 June.

The glittering evening, which runs from 7pm until late, will feature a night of music and dance performances, along with a classic Motown set from the Shelley Stevens Show.

Guests at the event, supported by Ramside Event Catering, will also enjoy a complimentary welcome drink, three course meal and the chance to win a host of prizes in a raffle and auction.

Proceeds from the Northern Pride Black Tie Ball will be used to ensure Newcastle Pride remains free to attend, cementing its status as one of the biggest free festivals in the UK.

Mark Nichols, Chair of Northern Pride, said: “Newcastle Pride is such a large scale event, that draws in visitors from across the UK and further afield.

“Without the continued support of our sponsors and fundraisers, we simply wouldn’t be able to put on an event of this scale.

“The Black Tie Ball gives us the perfect opportunity to get more people involved in a festival that we’re proud to say is now in its tenth year.”

Tickets for the Northern Pride Black Tie Ball, priced at £35 per person or £315 for a table of 10, can be booked by emailing mark.nichols@npride.org.uk for tables of 10 or by ordering online at www.northern-pride.com, where full listings for the wider Newcastle Pride festival are also available.

This includes the event’s Manchester Airport Main Stage weekend at Newcastle’s Town Moor from 21 to 23 July, with a huge musical line-up soon to be announced.

There will also be satellite events running at venues across the city during June and July, including the LGBT youth prom.

This year’s Newcastle Pride 2017 festival is sponsored by business improvement district company, NE1, which has sponsored the event for three years running.
