He’s known by most for his squeaky clean, bubblegum pop image in X Factor sibling duo Same Difference but those days are long gone for Sean Smith.

Sean Smith

Sean Smith signed to Energise records as a solo artist, and released his debut solo single ‘Turn Me On’ in September 2016. The single became the labels fastest selling physical single, and the music video amassed over 26,000 views in its first 3 weeks of release. The remix EP reached #15 on the UK iTunes dance chart.

Now, prepare to be shocked as he unveils a steamy, new video for his second single Magic and a striking, new look.

Sean’s sexy new video not only reveals a raunchier side to him – but also his platinum blonde locks.

He says he made the decision to go bottle blonde in a bid to show people he’s got an edgier side to him.

“People might have thought my last video – Turn Me On – was a little on the sexy side, well wait until they see Magic,” he said.

The video starts as it means to go on, with Sean seen getting up close and personal in the back of a car with a stunning brunette.

Later in the video the dark-haired bombshell dances provocatively around an oiled and topless Sean.

He said: “It’s something different that’s for sure, my fans know that my sound and style has evolved but it’s about making sure everyone else is aware of it too. The blonde is a bit of fun and, it’s not what people would expect from me”.

“The video is hot and I know it will shock some people but I’ve matured, people have to remember the X Factor days are 10 years ago now, that’s a long time ago.”

As Sean is pursuing his solo career, sister Sarah has gone down a different path, teaching toddlers, children, teens and adults to sing and dance at SD Studios – a nod to Same Difference – in their home city of Portsmouth.

He said: “I’m so proud of Sarah, she’s pursuing her dreams and doing amazingly at it too. We’re both immensely proud of each other and it’s great that we’re both finding our own way in the world.

Same Difference was an incredible chapter in our lives but it’s wonderful to achieve what you want to achieve as individuals too.”

As well as a new peroxide hair colour and a toned body to boot, Sean is also keen to make sure fans and critics are aware his transformation is more than just a hot makeover, having recently performed as one of the headline acts in a sell-out stage show in Manchester – sharing the bill with The Only Way Is Essex’s Ricky Rayment.

Sean wowed audiences with his stunning vocals, singing numbers from Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, as well as showing off his edgier side singing a rock n roll style ‘I’m Alive’ from Next to Normal.

He said: “This year in particular has been a really special one for me, I’ve been able to show people that I’m not just a one trick pony, I can do the poppier stuff but I can also sing the ballads, the rock and roll stuff.

“My sound and style is evolving all the time and I’m proud of that. I know my loyal fans will join me on the journey but I hope I can win some new fans on the way too.”

Sean says that new sound will be showcased track by track on his new album, out later this year. He said: “I can’t wait for everyone to hear the new album and hear me as a solo artist, it’s something I’m extremely proud of and I hope everyone will enjoy and like the direction I’m taking.”

“Magic” is produced by Nalle Ahlstedt and, will feature remixes by Andy Sikorski.
