6 weeks, 28 songs – Only one can win Melodifestivalen and represent Sweden in Eurovision

Tonight Sweden started their 6 weeks of Melodifestivalen bonanza - to pick their choice to represent them in Eurovision 2018 in Portugal.

Tonight 7 songs competed to get 2 spots for the final of Melodifestivalen 2018 that are held March 10, 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden. Even 2 spots was available tonight for the Second Chance that are held on 3 March 2018.

John Lundvik, with the song My Turn. He was born in London, UK and moved to Sweden 6 year old together with his family. He wrote the wedding song for Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in 2010.

Benjamin Ingrosso with the song Dance You Off. He is a well know Swedish singer and songwriter. He has entertainment in his DNA, his mum are well known Swedish singer and actress Pernilla Wahlgren. Even she has been in Melodifestivalen several times.

To the Second Chance

Two entries from the second chance will get to the final of Melodifestivalen. Even entries from the second chance has won the Melodifestivalen earlier.

Renaida with the song All The Feels gets on ticket to the second chance.
Sigrid Bernson with the song Patrick Swayze get the second ticket for the second chance.

Next Saturday 7 new songs will compete to get to the finals of Melodifestivalen.
