Alt for Norge former cast member Cash Court are hosting this year’s Syttende Gay!

Join the Norwegian-Americans in a celebration of 10 years in Ballard and yet their new event space The Cedar Room. This is their 12th year anniversary since 2006, as Syttende Gay, their event’s focus is not only primarily on Norwegian Constitution Day, however a party atmosphere where their LGBTQ guests and friends celebrate in unity!

These are the same wonderful venue owners who have run the former Bal-Mar and Jones Brothers in the past four years and are ready to help make yet another amazing experience for Syttende Mai (Seventeenth of May) Norwegian Constitution Day.

This year, you’ll able to enjoy the parade on the streets amongst parade goers which the parade begins at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Syttende Gay 2018 will be starting at 7:00 PM until 12:00 AM.

An exciting evening planned! Video Dj Andy is known around the Seattle Area, in many gay or gay-friendly establishments. Video Dj Andy will be showing visual music mixes, with a flavour of Nordic delights included. Miss Iona trailer returns as our favoured Drag Entertainer and always amazing us with jaw-dropping entertainment! Mister Norwegian Space Needle returns this year as well, giving the Seattle touch to our community. Their special guest this year is Cash Court from Olympia, who was featured on the Norwegian Reality Show, Alt for Norge (Season 8), where ethnic Norwegians from the U.S compete for the winning title, after a very challenging contest in each episode seeing who can prove to be the most Norwegian.

Cash will be helping them raise money for a Special LGBTQ cause which will be announced. Not only is Cash the only former cast member from Alt for Norge, showing up to Syttende Gay, every year many of the former members show up, as now a tradition and more activities are planned for this fantastic group at the event. New to the event is vocalist Eva Lea from Stavanger, Norway who is touring Seattle in the next few weeks, from the opening of the Nordic Museum too many other events.

This event is brought to you by a community collaboration of Kwanchai Events & Kwanchai Premium Vodka, with Stolthet Aquavit, along with volunteers.

A suggested donation of $7, with a wristband, entitles you to special drink prices. Donations help cover the costs of event production. A raffle will be held for the charity to be announced.
