Matilda – «You»
Over the past year, Matilda has spent a lot of time in the studio to find the right songs, and so far this year we've heard both «Jealous» and «Naked».
Now she´s ready to release the EP «Odyssey» that includes her newly hit «You».
«Making this EP has been surprisingly relaxing and smooth. Kristoffer and I, my producer, took our time with every lyric, every note and all the details. These songs have been, and still are so important to me – maybe even more than previous projects, so the perfectionist in me has had a blast», says Matilda.
The EP «Odyssey» consists of five tracks, and Matilda describes it almost like a power point presentation with a lot in between the lines. With the tracks «You», «Naked», «Jealous», «Gone» and «Remember», she tells a story that she’s excited for the listener to put their own stories, pictures, memories and faces to.
«Working on this EP is probably my favourite process of everything I’ve done. I wanted to move on from «Serendipity», find something worth saying and the right way to say it – and that became my Odyssey», says Matilda.
4 years old Matilda Gressberg has been interested in music for as long as she can remember, and already as an eight year old she learned to play the guitar. In the years to follow she quickly developed as a singer and songwriter, and in October 2012 she released her debut album «A Heart». On this album she worked with producer Even Ormestad (Marit Larsen, Bertine Zetlitz, Jonas Alaska etc), and during the recording she was joined by big Norwegian musicians including Martin Horntvedt from Jaga Jazzist, Olaf Olsen from BigBang, Jonas Alaska on harmonica and Thom Hell on guitar. 18 year old Matilda had already made music with some of Norway´s best musicians.
