The Caribbean coordinating team of the 2021 Global Black Pride requests submissions from the Caribbean for the 2nd annual Global Black Pride virtual celebration.

Kissing - Black Pride

The first ever global Black pride was a riot, held virtually in 2020 by Global Black Gay Men Connect (GBGMC) with the support of Grindr. The Caribbean was well represented with performances that included song, drag, spoken word and of course a deep dive into issues surrounding criminalisation in the Caribbean and LGBTQ+ self-love and visibility. The Caribbean segment, coordinated by the Eastern Caribbean Alliance for Diversity and Equality (ECADE), saw contributions from individuals and organisations across the region.

The second edition of Global Black Pride will take place on Friday June 18th, 2021. Building on a very successful global Black pride in 2020, which attracted over 1million viewers, we will celebrate – virtually, our community, culture and diversity within the Black LGBTQI+ movement across the globe.

Global Black Pride has become the single largest Black LGBTQI+ gathering in the world. In 2021, we honour our communities’ persistence and bravery in the face of an incredibly difficult year. The theme «What About Us», speaks to the frustration and disappointment of how our community continues to be left behind. Learn more here:
