After two years of Pride drought due to Corona, Aarhus Pride is now up in full swing, and invites the whole of Aarhus – yes the whole of world to Aarhus Pride 2022.

Aarhus Pride is a day of struggle and a day of celebration for equal rights and opportunities for all – regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Aarhus Pride warmly welcomes everyone who supports this goal to join the parade and in the parade ground afterwards.

The day begins at Bispetorv at 10AM, where the parade gathers for cosiness and good music from the DJ, and at 11.30AM the parade begins to move through the beautiful streets of Aarhus, Denmark, where we celebrate diversity and make visible the right to be who you are. It will be a nice walk through their beautiful city, and parade will end up at Pier 3 (Molslinjen’s old ferry terminal), which this day has been transformed into the parade ground with stalls, tents and stages – and everyone is welcome.

The parade ground opens at 12.30 Aarhus is in 2022 a music city with Music City Aarhus 2022 as the unifying centre of this year musical storytelling, and that’s what Aarhus Pride is tapping into. Thanks to donations from Kirsten & Gunnar Fonden and SallingFondene as well as good support from Aarhus Municipality become possible to put together a fantastic and large music program. Here they welcome to local Trees In Toronto, which is on the steps with a new record in the fall of 2022. There will be opportunity to hear Nana Mai, Ella Costello and Gry Harrit with band as well as the local queer artist Asbjørn, who has just returned to Aarhus after several years in Berlin. Asbjørn has just released a new album «Boyology», and Asbjørn most recently interpreted Anne Linnet for the grand official opening of Music City Aarhus 2022 on the big stage at Bispetorv in March.

Aarhus Pride has two stages this year, which gives an even bigger music program – and there is something for all ages, so for the little ones we welcome the Aarhus band Æsken, who in 2017 won one Danish Music Awards, and they are ready to inspire both children and childish souls to Aarhus Pride with lots of wonderful musical gags and jokes. They also get a visit from Musik Tine, who with her HoppeLoppe show makes the little ones sing along HoppeLoppen’s beautiful, funny and wonky songs.

The entire music program has been created in collaboration with the Aarhus company UNCOVERmusic, which focuses on the original music in Denmark and provides space for growth layers and breadth within live music.

There will be regular speeches, features and award ceremonies between the artists’ performances at 6PM where they say thank you for this time.

There will be an opportunity to buy a large selection of drinks at the parade ground, and food is it possible to buy at TØRV, which is the new street food market that is in immediate extension of Pier 3.

They hope to see as many wonderful people as possible for a beautiful, festive and colourful day – and we dreams of an Aarhus Pride filled with rainbows and all the colours of the world gathered in the heart of Aarhus.
