The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria stated that Catholic Churches in the country will not bless same-sex unions.

Nigeria is widely regarded as one of the countries with a significant level of intolerance towards the LGBTQ community. It is therefore not unexpected that the Nigerian Catholic bishops are more inclined towards promoting hate rather than love.
If Pope Francis is indeed supportive of the LGBTQ community, it is imperative that he engage in dialogue with the Nigerian Catholic bishops to address and mitigate the propagation of discriminatory attitudes and actions towards the LGBTQ community in Nigeria and globally.
