Brianna Ghey’s murderers have received life sentences for her «brutal, planned and sadistic» killing.
Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe killed the 16-year-old in a Cheshire park in February 2023.
Justice Yip stated that Jenkinson was driven by a «strong desire to kill», whereas Ratcliffe’s motivation partly stemmed from hostility towards Brianna’s transgender identity.
Jenkinson received a 22-year sentence, while Ratcliffe was detained for 20 years. Both teenagers, who were 15 at the time of the murder and are now 16, appeared to gaze ahead at the judge and displayed no visible reaction upon receiving their sentences, rnz.co.nz reports.
