After years of hosting The Gay Ole Opry and the Queer Country Quarterly, Pittelman decided it was time to put together a festival to showcase all of the queer, trans, and POC talent in Country music—and what better time to do so than the weekend before July 4th?
The Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP), a New York City-based non-profit organization run collectively by and for low income trans communities and trans communities of color, will celebrated its 10th anniversary on November 8th honoring activists who have worked to improve the lives of trans people of color.
