USA - Same-Sex Marriage

Marriage Equality USA (MEUSA) announces the release of an inspiring new book of essays showcasing the organisation’s unwavering efforts to help bring marriage protections to same-sex couples throughout the United States.
Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organisation, lauded U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves’ decision to block a provision of Mississippi’s discriminatory and harmful H.B. 1523 that would allow county clerks to deny same-sex couples from obtaining marriage licenses.
Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Alabama blasted disgraced Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore for engaging in stall tactics to delay responding to charges by the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission that his defiance of federal marriage equality rulings violated judicial ethics rules.
Advocates say #NoMoore, HRC delivered 28,000 petitions to the Ethics Commission from members calling for Moore’s removal. No stranger to ethics complaints, Moore was removed from office in 2003 for similarly defying a federal court order.
The boy, Skye Thomson, sent it to the governor today and the National Center for Transgender Equality posted it on Twitter and Facebook moments ago.
Today, Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Alabama responded to the news this morning, that the Alabama Supreme Court dismissed lawsuits filed by the Alabama Citizens Action Program (ALCAP), the Alabama Policy Institute (API) and Elmore County Probate Judge John Enslen, regarding the Supreme Court of the United States’ ruling in favour of marriage equality last June.
The church and charitable organisation ( Salvation Army ) has more than 1.1 million members worldwide but a leaked letter shows their LGBT stance may be in question.
Anti-LGBT organisation violates federal law yet again by withholding tax documents.
Proposed regulations further clarify federal tax code relating to marriage to be inclusive of same-sex spouses.
Pope Francis' meeting last week with an American woman at the centre of a row over gay marriage was not something he had sought and should not be seen as an endorsement of her views, the Vatican says.
