Robert's new single «River» is a version of Joni Mitchell's 1971 holiday classic.

Robert O'Connor

«River» produced by Stuart Gray (Hozier, Ryan Sheridan) at Jealoustown Studios, the track follows Robert’s #1 radio hits «No Second Chances» & «You Found Me».

He has had a successful 2018 with two self-written critically-acclaimed singles released on the Amuse label, both receiving strong radio support in the U.S, UK, Canada, Europe and Ireland.

«You Found Me» spent five weeks at #1 on the UK independent Radio Indie Alliance Chart, while its follow-up «No Second Chances» reached #1 on the LGBTQ Music Chart.

His Christmas single «River» is a haunting rendition of the Joni Mitchell classic with his signature Nashville-inspired twist.

Trading the original’s piano-line for sparse electric guitar and a tribal-like drumbeat, O’Connor’s interpretation highlights the sadness and longing in the lyrics. «I’m gonna make a lot of money and then I’m gonna quit this crazy scene», he sings in the opening verse, but in reality, while the scene he’s found himself in once again is arguably crazier than ever, the last thing on Robert’s mind is quitting.
