NYC indie-pop singer-songwriter, Yuzima Philip will release his new single Trapped in a Border Town. The song was written and recorded by Yuzima over the last two months. Inspired, in part, by the Arizona Immigration controversy.

“This is about how personal relationships are affected by situations beyond anyone’s control. I’ve heard plenty of stories about families and lovers separated by deportations. I used that as the inspiration,” says Yuzima. The song tells the story of a lover who murders for his beloved and is on the run. The escape takes him to a border town, where he sits; waiting to hear from his loved one.

Trapped in a Border Town follows the release of Yuzima’s debut LP Its Wonderful. The album and accompanying video Manic have received praise from everyone from television personality Carson Kressley, to well known NYC socialite and founder of the Fame Game social networking site, Tatiana Platt, and New York Press music critic Ernest Barteldes who called it “Great Work”.

Trapped in a Border Town is available now for streaming on Soundcloud and will be released for sale through Bandcamp on the August 24th, 2010. A video is also in production.
