People with traumatic childhoods are three times more likely to be gay or bisexual, according to a new study. But critics say the Otago University research is flawed and could have a negative impact on perceptions about homosexuality.

MTV ‘excellent’ for gay representation
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today released its fourth annual Network Responsibility Index (NRI), a report that maps the quantity, quality and diversity of images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people on television. Primetime programming on the five broadcast networks was evaluated as well as original primetime programming on 10 of the highest-rated cable networks.
Church blasts gay priests leading ‘double life’
The Catholic Church in Italy, still reeling from the clerical sex abuse scandal, lashed out Friday at gay priests who are leading a double life, urging them to come out of the closet and leave the priesthood.

Progressive Democrats of America Endorses Bastien and Gill for Congress
On the eve of their national conference in Cleveland Ohio, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) announced it has endorsed two new progressive candidates for Congress, Marleine Bastien in Florida’s 17th District and Dr. David Gill in Illinois’ 15th. Both candidates won the endorsement of local PDA chapters and the unanimous endorsement of the PDA Inside the Party Working Group.
