Artist Will Cotton Takes The Wraps Off A Katy Perry Portrait
On Wednesday, July 21st, renowned contemporary artist Will Cotton unveiled his recently completed portrait of chart-topping recording artist, Katy Perry. Katy was present for the unveiling in the artist’s Lower East Side, Manhattan studio. The painting will also be featured as the cover of Katy’s new album, Teenage Dream, scheduled for US release on August 24th.

Progressive Activists Converging in Cleveland
Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), an activist organization founded in 2004, will hold a national grassroots leadership conference in Cleveland, Ohio, July 23rd to 25th. Hundreds of participants from around the country will train and strategize with the likes of local Congressman Dennis Kucinich, the Nation magazine’s John Nichols, Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, health insurance whistleblower Wendell Potter, immigrant rights organiser Salvador Reza, and Executive Director of the National Priorities Project Jo Comerford.
