The Four-Faced Liar
Wolfe Video is pleased to present this year’s Slamdance hit, The Four-Faced Liar, coming to DVD on November 9th. It’s a witty and romantic comedy about a group of twenty-something friends who live in New York City – and whose young love lives get complicated when the hip lesbian Bridget falls for reserved Molly – whose boyfriend Greg is part of their gang.
As well as telling an entertaining tale, The Four-Faced Liar has a great backstory. Originally written and produced as a play by actors Daniel Carlisle, Todd Kubrak, Emily Peck, and writer/actor/producer Marja Lewis Ryan, the four friends were so inspired by audience response that they continued working as a team to bring the story to film, first to Slamdance, and then to sold-out audiences around the US. They’ve inked deals for DVD and broadcast sales – heady stuff considering none of them is old enough to rent a car.
The DVD comes loaded with bonus features including commentary and a behind the scenes featurette.
The Four-Faced Liar, “a comedy about drama,” tells the story of a group of New York 20-somethings. Bridget is a hip, womanizing lesbian who lives with her guy pal Trip. One night they meet straight-laced New York newbies Greg and Molly at their favorite hangout, The Four-Faced Liar. Molly is a bit appalled by free-spirited Bridget – but she’s also attracted to her, and in time, the friends’ lives are hilariously complicated when the two women fall in love.
