ESF and Monarch Productions Announce Growing List of Bands and Performing Artists for Freedom Festival
The Empowering Spirits Foundation (ESF) and Monarch Productions are continuing to add to their musical line-up for the first annual Freedom Festival.
Semi Precious Weapons, who just finished touring with Lady Gaga, is among the day’s headliners and will be sharing the stage with San Diego Indie Music Fest producers Alicia Champion and Danielle Lo Presti (Danielle LoPresti and the Masses), Palm Springs White Party performing sensation Kerli, superstar female rapper Colette Carr, country music performer Jared Ashley and Australian Idol semi-finalist Courtney Act.
A number of A-list DJs, including Grammy-nominated DJ Dave Aude, DJ Tony Moran, DJ Escape and DJ Icon have also signed on. The growing list of bands and performing artists will continue to be posted on FreetoBeConcert.com in the weeks leading up to the event. Additional information is also available on the Freedom Festival Facebook page, facebook.com/freetobefestival and on Twitter @FreedomFest2011.
“One of the most important messages we want to relay is that Freedom Festival is about more than putting on a one-day music and arts festival,” said ESF Communications Director Margie M. Palmer. “Too often society pre-defines who we as individuals are supposed to be. It defines how we should look, how we should dress, and how we should behave. Through the Free to Be movement we want to encourage people to be who they are, not what they’re told, and to embrace what it is about them that makes them different, and therefore unique. We want to inspire people to make themselves at home in their own bodies, and to be comfortable in their lives.”
Tickets to the festival are currently $40 and are available on-line at freetobeconcert.com. Ticket prices will raise to $52 on May 20. Ticket giveaway contests are currently taking place on the Freedom Festival Facebook page.
Proceeds of the event will benefit ESF, allowing the organization to expand to a national level.
Freedom Festival will take place on Saturday July 9 from noon until 10 p.m. at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.
