Walt Disney World President At Out & Equal LGBT Equality Institute
George A. Kalogridis, president of the Walt Disney World Resort, and Tammy Smith, a Brigadier General in the United States Army, are among the headline speakers at the first LGBT Equality Institute, a complimentary workshop to be held July 23 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.
The LGBT Equality Institute is an intensive one-day experience designed to help companies create welcoming and inclusive workplaces for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees. Attendees will learn from global experts, LGBT subject matter experts and HR professionals as they share their experiences, best practices, and tips for achieving workplace equality and will come away with actionable plans for building inclusive policies and cultures in their own companies.
Over his 40-year career with Disney, George A. Kalogridis has served in multiple leadership roles at Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Disneyland. He became president of Walt Disney World in 2013.
Brigadier General Tammy Smith is a career Army Officer currently assigned as Deputy Chief of Staff, United States Army Reserve, responsible for synchronising strategic planning and resourcing for a world-wide, 202K military force. She has 29 years of military experience.
“We are proud that companies like Disney are leading the way to LGBT workplace equality. Now we can ensure that companies of all sizes can be equipped with the tools for equal workplaces,” said Selisse Berry, Founder and CEO of Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. “Over the last 19 years, we have been working with LGBT professionals and executives to ensure the workplace is welcoming for all of us. I am thrilled that the idea for the Institute came out of an Out & Equal Executive Forum where we gather 50 LGBT executives each year to discuss what more we can do to achieve full workplace equality.”
The LGBT Equality Institute is complimentary to attend. Space is limited. Learn more and register here.
