In light of the recent debate around whether or not the Safe Schools Coalition should have a presence in schools around the country, community advocates and supporters rallied in defence of it.
Downpour did not deter hundreds of LGBTI activists, young people, their families and allies from converging in Melbourne CBD yesterday to rally in support of the Safe Schools Coalition and its program for Australian schools.
The rally was staged in response to the Federal Government’s decision to review the program, after far right Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi called for the program to be scrapped.
