
Rainbow Flag Becomes a Stamp In Sweden
Sweden seems to be the first in the world to adorn a stamp with the rainbow flag, the symbol of LGBT, acceptance and diversity. On May 4, will the new stamp released.
Per Ljungblad, press representative at PostNord says they have investigated if other countries had something similar but think that Sweden is likely to be the first country in the world. Ljungblad says their stamp ambition is to reflect Sweden and its contemporaries.
“The motives we put on stamps are a reflection of Sweden today. Diversity is today a matter of course and we want to manifest the importance of equal value and enhance people’s unique characteristics and differences. ”
“As far as we know, we are the first in the world to publish pride flag stamp. There have been a couple of other cases that have received much attention. Finland released few years ago stamps of Tom of Finland, which is a very famous artist in the LGBT world, which received very much attention internationally, “said Ljungberg.
