9th Grade Transgender Boy Writes Heartbreaking Letter to N.C. Governor
The boy, Skye Thomson, sent it to the governor today and the National Center for Transgender Equality posted it on Twitter and Facebook moments ago.
In his letter, Skye Thomson writes so earnestly about the way the law effects him that I think it really humanises the issue.
Skye spoke at a state Senate hearing meeting about the proposed law last month and talked about how he felt bullied bullied by his state legislators.
Skye Thomson closes his letter asking for a face-to-face meeting with governor – something that was considered and then pulled an hour before the governor signed the bill into law – because Skye believes the governor would that see he’s just another boy who’s worth protecting like anyone else.
