Everyone are bit by SKAM hysteria
SKAM the Norwegian youth tv-series has hit the world with a big splash and everyone is talking about it....
SKAM is a Norwegian TV series created by NRK – the Norwegian equaling to the BBC in the UK – has taken the world by storm. SKAM is the Norwegian word for SHAME.
And do not think you have seen something similar from the U.S or UK or Australia – I promise you – you haven’t.
The series are about how 16 year old experiencing being 16 year olds today in the modern Norway, but 16 year olds all over the world can identify them self in the different characters.
SKAM has topics from being in love, rape, nude pictures on the internet, homophobia and to being gay just to mention few. You might find these topics in popular American tv-series as well, but you have never been told like this from a 16 year old point of view – that is why everyone is talking about – it’s why it’s so unique.
NRK is publishing few minutes of SKAM every day and on Fridays all these minutes of SKAM is put together as an episode during the season.
SKAM are already in the third season in Norway and by December this year the series is aired in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Iceland. Opening of third season was so big secret – only few knew when it will start – and suddenly on a Sunday this autumn without any warning NRK started to publish few minutes of SKAM – and third season had started at last.
This season is about homosexuality and we are following Isak and Even. Isak is single guy and tries to hide his attractions to guys by being homophobic. Even (guy name) has a girlfriend, but has got an eye on Isak and Isak is answering by looking back… and it has been build up to the big kiss that happen in last episode before 10 days SKAM break last week (it’s back this week at last).
There even been a demand that NRK should add English subtitles and NRK answered to the demand like this :
Dear international SKAM-fans! You are all wonderful, but we're sorry to say there won't be English subs. #WeNeedEnglishSubsForSkam pic.twitter.com/MEw7jIwV9T
— NRK (@NRKno) November 1, 2016
Rumours has it that can be found unofficial subtitles on Youtube, but these are not published by the broadcaster. SKAM is available all around the world on skam.p3.no – no geo locking like U.S TV stations do (but still no English subtitles).
Glee Kevin McHale, tweeting about SKAM’s 10 days break – (this week SKAM is back).
But what a time for SKAM to be off for 10 days. U feel me @anaserhall?
