A leading North East catering company is celebrating after being awarded the highly-coveted catering contract for one of the UK’s largest LGBT festivals.
Ramside Event Catering, a subsidiary of Ramside Estates, has been chosen to head up the public bars and food outlets for thousands of attendees at this year’s tenth Newcastle Pride festival, sponsored by Newcastle business improvement district, NE1.
The popular festival, which attracted more than 73,000 visitors and contributed more than £10.4m to the economy in 2016, will return to Newcastle’s Town Moor with its largest ever line up on the 21 to 23 July weekend.
And John Adamson, Director of Ramside Estates, which includes popular North East venues and events such as Ramside Hall Hotel and Spa, Hardwick Hall Hotel, music festival Hardwick Live and the eagerly awaited Colonel Porters Emporium at Newcastle’s Dean Street, is delighted to have been awarded the catering contract for the event.
“This is a huge coup for us. Newcastle Pride is such a well-established festival which always attracts huge crowds and we’re really looking forward to being a part of such an inspiring, community event,” he said.
“We have managed large scale events such as Hardwick Live and the Lobster and Oyster Festivals in the past but even by our standards, this is a huge catering exercise and it’s not just about quantity, it’s about quality too.
“However, our team is highly experienced and we’re looking forward to serving superb food and drink to everyone attending Pride.”
Mark Nichols, Chair of Northern Pride, which organises Newcastle Pride, said: “We’re thrilled to have Ramside Catering on board as the official caterers for our tenth Newcastle Pride event.
“Their experience catering for large scale events is unrivalled and we know they are a safe pair of hands who will more than deliver in terms of reliability, quality and enthusiasm over the Pride weekend.”
On the lead-up to the 21 to 23 July weekend, there will also be satellite events running at venues across the city, including a black tie ball and LGBT youth prom.
Newcastle Pride 2017 has confirmed that NE1, the city’s Business Improvement District, is back on board for the third year as festival sponsor.
