YouTube and Google Not That LGBTQ Friendly After All
YouTube has issued a statement expressing “regret” for any “confusion” caused by its ‘family-friendly’ filter that bans LGBTQ content.
News of this sparked controversy over the weekend after several LGBTQ YouTubers complained their videos were being targeted, thegailygrind.com reports.
Google could also look at the same issues with their Google+ and Adsense services. MySoCalledGayLife.co.uk publishes on Facebook, Moovz and Google+ and only Google + we have got the message that we breach their policy – same content that Facebook and Moovz do not have any problems with.
On adsense we get regularly messages that we breach their policy – they are very sensitive to LGBTQ – if it was straight interest they wouldn’t raise any eyebrows, once Adsense accused us for breach of copyright laws – on an article that included a LGBTQ YouTube video. The picture we used in the article was provided by the owner of the picture and the information used in the article was provide of the publisher of the YouTube video and the video was embedded. The video was published by the copyright owner on YouTube. about a 2 years after the article was published – Google’s adsense got a problem with that article. The claim was not valid and will never be valid – Google still claims it, even 2 years after the claimed it. We can’t take Google claims seriously!
adsense has problem with YouTube video’s by the LGBTQ YouTubers that we have chosen to publish on our site. adsense has become the new editor in chief that has a very sensitive soul with a homophobic mind set.
And is very difficult to respond to Googles allegations – they refer to the adsense or Google + community – we tried that – and was treated as child by on of the senior members (they are not working for Google and are not paid by Google) in the adsense community.
So we are not at all surprise that Google filters out LGBTQ videos on YouTube in “family filter” that they should have called “straight filter” – on the outside Google seems very LGBTQ friendly – but on the inside it seems to be not so much – not before a big out cry about it……
