The award winning feel good hit new musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, starring the sensational John McCrea as Jamie alongside a 26 strong performing company and a band of 9 musicians, is finally releasing an official West End cast recording – available digitally worldwide from Friday 27 April and on CD in the UK.
Fusing pop, funk and soul the 16-song collection, written by Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer of The Feeling and lyricist Tom MacRae, dances effortlessly between poignant ballads, soaring belters and joyous singalongs, transporting you straight into the West End’s hottest new show.

Highlights include the infectious lead single, AndYou Don’t Even Know It and the show stopping title track Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. There are heart-wrenching ballads like He’s My Boy and If I Met Myself Again, both sung flawlessly by Josie Walker as Jamie’s mother and the stunning It Means Beautiful and Spotlight, which showcase the gorgeous soulful voice of Lucie Shorthouse as Jamie’s best friend Pritti Pasha. Elsewhere there’s the glittering Out of the Darkness(A Place Where We Belong)and the strutting Work Of Art, plus other gems like Over The Top and John McCrea’s heart-breaking solos The Wall in My Head and Ugly In This Ugly World – all packed full of pop hooks. Everybody’s Talking About Jamie opened at the Sheffield Crucible in 2017 and is now playing at the Apollo Theatre in the West End, currently booking until 6 October. As well as receiving 5-star reviews, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie was nominated for 5 Olivier Awards, received the UK Theatre and What’s On StageAwards for Best New Musicaland won the Attitude Culture Award 2017. Dan Gillespie Sells won Best Composer at The Stage Debut Awards, John McCrea won the What’s On Stage award for Best Actor in a Musical, the UK Theatre Award for Best Performance in A Musical and was named joint Most Promising Newcomer at the Critics Circle Awards and Lucie Shorthouse won the What’s On Stage Award for Best Supporting Actresses in a Musical.Everybody’s Talking About Jamie will be screened live from the Apollo Theatre into cinemas across the UK, Ireland and select European territories on Thursday 5 July 2018.
