With over 2.500.000 views on YouTube, Kuntergrau became Europe’s most popular web series with LGBTQ content in 2017.
The show tells the story of five gay teens and their day to day struggle in the big city.
By being subtitled in 11+ languages the show can be watched all around the world.
What makes this project special though is the way it’s produced:
Unlike most other web shows Kuntergrau is the result of the youth work of Cologne‘s LGBTQ Youth Centre.
Gay teenagers between the age of 15 and 27 work together to create a show they would have liked to see when they were coming out.
This makes Kuntergrau special…
There is no TV network or production company involved in the making of Kuntergrau.
The series is produced by those who it’s meant for: LGBTQ teenagers.
Everyone involved works on a voluntary basis in their spare time. No one is payed. 100% of their money goes into the series.
Kuntergrau is entirely funded by the donations of their audience.
