Delta Air Lines faces backlash for censoring gay scenes in Rocketman
A U.S. airline is facing a backlash after a passenger shared their outrage after watching a film on a flight only to find «almost every gay reference» had been removed.
The passenger was travelling on a Delta Air Lines flight and had chosen to watch Sir Elton John‘s biopic Rocketman.
However, the digital director of American Weekly Shana Krochmalkly discovered all gay love scenes and references to the British singer’s sexuality had been censored.
A Delta Air Lines spokesman said that the company values diversity and inclusion and will «review our processes to ensure edited video content doesn’t conflict with these values».
